259 new corona cases in Assam, more than 4,000 active cases

GUWAHATI : Assam on Sunday reported 259 new cases of corona virus infection, after which the number of infected people has increased to 5,95,105 in the state. This was informed by the National Health Mission. The National Health Mission (NHM) said that 11 people have died of covid in the state in the last 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 5,751. He said 200 people in the state also recovered from the infection during this period.

The number of people recovering from corona in the state has increased to 5,83,652. He said the number of active patients in the state is 4,355. In Assam, the number of Tests conducted on Sunday was less than half that of Saturday. The National Health Mission said that 31,906 samples were tested in the state on Sunday, out of which 259 new cases were reported.The daily positivity rate in the North-Eastern State was recorded at 0.81 per cent. In Assam, 71,638 sample tests were conducted on Saturday, out of which 499 new cases were reported. In the last 24 hours, 11 patients have died. Two persons each died in Jorhat and Nagaon and one each in Baksa, Chirang, Kamrup Metropolitan, Sivasagar and Sonitpur districts. So far, 5,751 people have died from Covid in the state.

The active cases of corona in Assam are currently 4,355. Kamrup Metropolitan recorded the highest number of 91 cases. This was followed by Jorhat (21), Sonitpur (20), and Lakhimpur (15). Schools and colleges have reopened in Assam in a phased manner with a reduction in corona cases. From class 1 to 11, the first seven semesters of the graduate and the first year of postgraduate students will continue with their online classes. On the other hand, immunization passengers are being allowed to travel on display of corona vaccination certificate. They are also getting exemption from compulsory testing. This rule is applicable at airports, railway stations, road limits everywhere.
