400th birth anniversary of Mahavir Lachit Borphukan Elaborate programme in Sivasagar district on the occasion

SIVASAGAR : On the occasion of the 400th birth anniversary of Mahavir Lachit Borphukan, various programs have been organized in Sivasagar district at the initiative of Sivasagar district administration since November 18, 2022. As part of this program, school visits, quizzes, debates, impromptu lectures and poetry recitation competitions are being organized by the district administration today.

On the other hand boating competitions were held at Maribil Sarovar, traditional food exhibitions at Sivasagar Boarding Playground, and traditional sports. Sivasagar District Development Commissioner Shovon Gowala inaugurated the traditional food exhibition of various communities in the presence of Additional Deputy Commissioners Karmadev Brahma, Dr. Mandira Baruah, Chandana Baruah and other district administration officials today. On the other hand, at the initiative of the District Sports Officer’s Office, a tekeli breaking competition and essay competition was organized among the students. It may be recalled that at the initiative of Sivasagar District Administration, on 24th November, 2022, at 5.00 p.m. at 5.00 p.m., the lighting of the lamp at the historic places of Sivasagar and the performance of patriotic songs and dramas will be performed in the youth team at 6.00 pm and on November 25 at 10.00 am at Shivsagar Boarding Playground.
