Kokrajhar police today seized 61 bags of ganja weighing 587 kg from a truck bearing registration number PB 11C J 8539 coming from Imphal (Manipur) and on the way to Kolkatta in West Bengal at Simaltapu in Gossaigaon subdivision of Kokrajhart district. The driver and handyman of the vehicle identified as Harjit Singh and Hardeep Singh have been arrested in this connection.
Kokrajhar Superintendent of Police Rakesh Roushan said based on source information officer incharge of Simaltapu police outpost and staffs intercepted one ten wheeler truck (container) suspected to be carrying Ganja. Later SDPO Gossaigaon in presence of independent witnesses seized 61 bags of ganja (total weight 587 kg) from the truck by observing all legal formalities. Farther investigation and needful action is going on.
