New Delhi Communications Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw today said the proliferation of 5G services in the country would facilitate introduction on the internet on trains. Replying to questions in the Lok Sabha, Mr Vaishnaw, who is also the Rail Minister, said for plying with a speed of greater than 100 km per hour 5G is essential. He told the house that 4G would cause network disruptions.
The Communications Minister told the house that as and when 5G is introduced and proliferates in the country, it would subsequently be made available in trains too.
The minister said Research Design and Standards Organisation (RDSO) under the Rail ministry has studied the issue of minimize the problem of waterlogging in Road Under Bridges and suggested remedial measures.
