Kolkata: The Department of Media Science, The Heritage Academy (THA), Kolkata organized the 7th Heritage Academy Film Festival (HAFF) in the campus on 14th and 15th May, 2024. The festival was inaugurated by none other than Ms. Subhashree Ganguly, well known actor and producer in the Bengali Film Industry on 14th May as the Chief Guest in the presence of Dr. Madhupa Bakshi, Dean, Department of Media Science, The Heritage Academy Kolkata (THA), Mr. Pradip Agarwal, CEO, KBT, Dr. Gour Bannerjee, Principal, THA, and other faculty members of the College. There were various events like Fiction Films, Non-Fiction Films, Photography, One-Take films, Trailer Making and many more. Over 100 entries for various events were received from the students of various colleges across the city.
During the inaugural address, Ms. Subhashree Ganguly said that it is really inspiring that within a very short period of time THA had organized such a wonderful film festival which had already received various films made by the students from various colleges around the city. Moreover he advised the students to get associated more with films since it can mould one’s life towards success.
There were engaging sessions with Mr. Unmesh Ganguly, Content Creator, Actor and Founder, Bankuramemes and Mr. Rwitobroto Mukherjee, a well known Actor who spoke about the basic ingredients of Content Creation and Acting respectively.
The second day witnessed a Master Class on Filmmaking in Metaverse which was addressed by Prof. Samir Mukherjee, Founder and Mentor, VR/AR in Academia and Drone Academia.
There was one unique event which was Cine Couture fashion Show which was evaluated by Ms. Srijita Ghosh, Fashion and Social Media Influencer.
Apart from these the judges were experts from the film and entertainment industry like Mr. Judhajit Sarkar, Prof . Ayan Nandy from SRFTI and many others.
Actress Chaity Ghoshal also addressed a particular session in HAFF 2024.
The final day of the event witnessed the address of eminent film director and singer, Mr. Anjan Dutta who was interviewed by Mr. Judhajit Sarakar on his latest movie “Chalchitra Ekhon’ which was made as a tribute to the legendary film maker Mr. Mrinal Sen.
“Such festival enriches the sense of creativity and innovation among the students,” said Shri P.K.Agarwal, CEO, KBT during the event.
