New Delhi: The Government has clarified that there is no backlog in filling vacancies of the Air Traffic Controllers (ATCO). In a written reply in Rajya Sabha on Monday (07 August 2023), Minister of State for Civil Aviation Gen. (Dr) V. K. Singh informed that at present, 870 posts of ATCOs are vacant. He said, to meet the manpower requirements of ATCOs, an additional 796 positions have been created since 2022. The Minister added that the direct recruitment process to fill up 400 posts of Junior Executive (ATC) has been completed and action for direct recruitment for another 356 posts has been initiated.
