L’Opéra Presents Cromun, A Fusion Tribute to the India-France Year of Innovation 2026

New Delhi: L’Opéra, renowned for bringing authentic French culinary artistry to India, introduces an exciting new creation — the Cromun, a distinctive pastry that celebrates cross-cultural innovation. Inspired by two beloved classics, India’s iconic Gulab Jamun and France’s timeless Croissant, the Cromun has been specially crafted as a tribute to the India-France Year of Innovation 2026.                                                                                                                                                                                   Blending the best of both worlds, the Cromun features the light, flaky layers of a perfectly baked croissant, paired with a luscious cream that draws inspiration from the rich, aromatic flavours of gulab jamun. Thoughtfully reimagined, the filling is delicately balanced to offer a more refined sweetness, resulting in a modern dessert that is both indulgent and nuanced.                                                                                                                                                  This innovative creation has been conceptualised by Kevin Duthel, French Executive Chef at L’Opéra, who brings his expertise and creativity to reinterpret traditional flavours through a contemporary lens.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     About L’Opéra
L’Opéra is an authentic French Pastry & Bakery House, Salon de Thé, and Café Restaurant, celebrated in India for its commitment to excellence, refinement, and traditional French savoir-faire.

Conceived in 2008 by Laurent Samandari—who recognised the need for genuine French bakery and pastry offerings during an internship in India—the brand soon grew under the leadership of his parents, Dr. Kazem Samandari and Dr. Christine Samandari. The family continues to guide the company with a focus on quality and craftsmanship.

L’Opéra’s creations, from cakes and pastries to breads, quiches, and viennoiseries, reflect the highest standards of French culinary precision. The brand now operates across three formats: its classic Pâtisserie & Boulangerie and Salon de Thé boutiques; Le Café, L’Opéra’s upscale, luxury café concept offering an elevated all-day dining experience with premium dishes; and Café du Jardin, an outdoor, nature-driven format designed for serene, open-air dining. L’Opéra remains a benchmark of authenticity in India’s premium culinary landscape.
