Avakaya Mixing Ceremonies Take Centre Stage at Novotel Visakhapatnam Varun Beach and The Bheemili Resort
Visakhapatnam – Celebrating the arrival of mango season, Novotel Visakhapatnam Varun Beach and The Bheemili Resort, part of the Accor portfolio, hosted Avakaya Mixing Ceremonies across the weekend, on 2nd and 3rd May respectively, bringing to life one of Andhra Pradesh’s most treasured culinary traditions.
Rooted in nostalgia and community, the ceremonies were designed to offer guests an authentic and engaging glimpse into the age-old ritual of preparing Avakaya, blending cultural storytelling with contemporary hospitality experiences.
At The Bheemili Resort, the celebration on 2nd May unfolded in a serene coastal setting, where guests were invited to immerse themselves in the traditional process of Avakaya preparation. Guided by culinary experts, participants engaged in the hands-on mixing of freshly cut raw mangoes with aromatic spices and gingelly oil, gaining a deeper appreciation for the craftsmanship behind the iconic pickle. The experience was complemented by a thoughtfully curated selection of regional delicacies and refreshing seasonal beverages, creating a relaxed and culturally rich atmosphere.
Continuing the celebration, Novotel Visakhapatnam Varun Beach hosted its Avakaya Mixing Ceremony on 3rd May, bringing together guests and culinary enthusiasts for a vibrant and interactive evening. Set against the stunning seaside backdrop, the event captured the spirit of togetherness as guests gathered to participate in the ritual, sharing stories and traditions associated with the preparation of Avakaya. The experience was enhanced with summer-inspired welcome drinks and a curated spread of regional specialities, reflecting the diversity of Andhra cuisine.
