Women Entrepreneurs Driving India’s Food Revolution Celebrated at FICCI FLO Panel Discussion
New Delhi : FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO), an apex body of business women under the aegis of its Agriculture, Agro-Based & Food Processing Industry Initiative, organised an inspiring panel discussion titled “The Women Behind What India Eats” at FICCI Federation House, New Delhi.
The event brought together some of India’s most accomplished women entrepreneurs from the food industry to share their journeys of innovation, resilience and purpose-driven entrepreneurship.
Conceptualised by Ms. Minal Jain, Lead, and Ms. Radhika Gupta, Co-Lead of the Initiative, the session highlighted the transformative role women are playing across India’s food ecosystem—from food processing and nutrition to hospitality, retail and food technology.
Welcoming the gathering, Ms. Puja Garg, 43rd National President of FICCI FLO, said that women are emerging as key drivers of India’s rapidly evolving food industry.
“Women are the silent architects of the Indian food ecosystem, custodians of traditional recipes, and culinary heritage,” she remarked, adding that women entrepreneurs are successfully building brands that combine innovation, quality and sustainability while responding to changing consumer preferences.
The distinguished panel featured Padma Shri awardee Mrs. Rajni Bector, Founder of Mrs. Bector’s Food Specialities Ltd. and Cremica Group; Ms. Aditi Handa, Co-Founder and Head Chef of The Baker’s Dozen; and Ms. Pooja Singhal, Founder and CEO of Coriander. The discussion was expertly moderated by Ms. Smita Mishra,
The speakers shared inspiring accounts of their entrepreneurial journeys, discussing the motivation behind launching their ventures, the challenges of building successful brands and the strategies that enabled them to create scalable and sustainable businesses. The conversation also explored emerging food industry trends, innovation, technology, sustainability, health and wellness, and the changing preferences of Indian consumers.
A special highlight of the programme was the FLO National Waste to Wealth Drive, organised under the FLO Greentech & Sustainability Initiative. A dedicated collection kiosk encouraged members to responsibly dispose of e-waste such as unused mobile phones, laptops, chargers, cables, earphones and expired medicines, reinforcing FLO’s commitment to responsible recycling and the principles of the circular economy.
The event forms part of FICCI FLO’s ongoing efforts to empower women agripreneurs and micro-enterprises through mentorship, capacity-building programmes and knowledge-sharing initiatives, while fostering a more inclusive, innovative and sustainable food ecosystem in India.
