Bengaluru : As The Leela Palace Bengaluru celebrates 25 years of hospitality, this Onam, the hotel invites guests to mark the occasion through one of Kerala’s most cherished culinary and cultural traditions. From 17th to 26th August 2026, Jamavar, the Indian speciality restaurant, will present a specially curated 25-item Onam Sadhya, bringing together the richness of Kerala’s culinary heritage with the warmth and spirit of The Leela’s enduring approach to Indian hospitality.

Named after the exquisite brocades of Kashmir, Jamavar embodies the philosophy of ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’, where the guest is revered as God. Its setting, with intricate traditional paintings, rich Jamavar shawls, opulent silver table settings, hand-carved screens and vibrant floral-filled urlis, evokes the splendour of a bygone era. The restaurant’s culinary philosophy celebrates bold, authentic Indian flavours and India’s rich gastronomic heritage.

Over ten days, guests can gather with family and friends for a traditional Onam celebration lunch, with the specially curated Sadhya bringing the festive table of Kerala to Jamavar. The 25-item feast celebrates vibrant flavours, seasonal ingredients and time-honoured recipes, offering an immersive experience of a culinary tradition deeply rooted in celebration, abundance and togetherness.

Every Onam Sadhya tells a story long before it reaches the banana leaf. It begins in the kitchen, where recipes rooted in tradition are prepared with patience, precision and purpose. At Jamavar, this journey continues as chefs, dressed in traditional attire, personally serve every course, reflecting the warmth, grace and generosity that define the spirit of Onam.

Each element of the Sadhya has been thoughtfully curated to evoke the character of Kerala’s festive table, where food is an expression of culture, celebration and togetherness. In keeping with Jamavar’s philosophy of authenticity and vibrant Indian gastronomy, the experience brings the traditions of Kerala to a setting that celebrates India’s rich culinary heritage.

Thiruvonam: A Celebration Beyond the Table

The celebrations culminate on Thiruvonam, 26th August, with a special cultural experience designed to bring the traditions of Kerala to life. Alongside the traditional 25-item Sadhya, guests will experience a live instrumental performance, complemented by Kathakali and Mohiniyattam performances.

Through food, music and classical performing arts, the Thiruvonam celebration offers a more immersive expression of Kerala’s cultural heritage, transforming the festive lunch into an experience of the sights, sounds and flavours of the region.

Reflecting on the significance of celebrating 25 years through Onam, Nishant Agarwal, Vice President & General Manager, The Leela Palace Bengaluru, says: “There is something deeply special about celebrating 25 years of hospitality through a festival that is itself so rooted in warmth, togetherness and tradition. Onam gives us an opportunity to celebrate not only the richness of Kerala’s culinary heritage, but also the values that have been at the heart of our journey at The Leela Palace Bengaluru. This year, we wanted the celebration at Jamavar to feel especially meaningful — from the traditional Sadhya and the way it is served, to the music and classical performances that will bring the spirit of Thiruvonam to life. It is our way of welcoming our guests, families and friends to be part of this milestone and create new memories with us.”

For The Leela Palace Bengaluru, the celebration is a reflection of a journey shaped over 25 years by people, traditions and memorable experiences. Onam provides a fitting moment to honour that journey — bringing together the authenticity of Indian culture, the richness of its culinary traditions and the warmth of genuine hospitality.

As guests come together at Jamavar this Onam, the celebration becomes more than a festive feast. It is an invitation to experience the beauty of tradition through food, music and art, while marking 25 years of a hospitality legacy built on creating meaningful experiences and celebrating India’s diverse heritage.
