On Engineers’ Day, Vedanta Power is highlighting the growing importance of engineering talent in building a young, diverse and future-ready workforce as India’s power sector enters a new phase of growth. Engineers now account for nearly 50% of Vedanta Power’s total workforce, reflecting the critical role of technical expertise across the company’s operations and its efforts to build the capabilities required to operate complex power assets, adopt new technologies and respond to an evolving energy landscape.
The company is also strengthening diversity within its engineering workforce with significant engineers hired by Vedanta Power in the current financial year are women. The focus on bringing more women into engineering roles reflects Vedanta Power’s commitment to creating a more diverse talent pool for the future of the power sector.
Speaking on Engineers’ Day and the importance of developing engineering talent for the future of the power sector, Mr. Rajinder Singh Ahuja, Chief Executive Officer and Whole-Time Director, Vedanta Power, said, “India’s power growth story is entering an exciting phase. As part of its recent campus hiring, Vedanta Power has onboarded young professionals, engineers hired being women, bringing fresh talent and diverse perspectives into the organisation. The talent has been sourced from top institutions across the country including IITs, NITs, IIMs, etc.
