Bengaluru  – Credfix, an AI-first platform empowering financially distressed borrowers to regain control of their financial future, has raised ₹16.1 crore in seed funding led by Tanglin Venture Partners, with participation from Stargazer.

The fresh capital will accelerate product innovation, strengthen the company’s proprietary AI capabilities, expand its nationwide borrower support ecosystem, and scale its mission of making the path out of debt more transparent, accessible and humane. Before this round, Credfix had raised ₹4.5 crore from K2 Capital, Invstt Trust and a group of prominent angel investors.

Credfix currently serves more than 2 lakh borrowers, representing over ₹4,000 crore in aggregate outstanding debt. With 40% of its users in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, the company is seeing strong demand for technology-led financial support well beyond India’s major metros.

As India sees an unprecedented expansion of formal consumer credit, millions of first-time borrowers are entering the financial system every year. This has significantly improved access to credit, but it has also created a new challenge: supporting borrowers when unforeseen setbacks make repayment difficult.

The challenge is particularly acute among younger consumers. Gen Z now accounts for 41% of all new-to-credit borrowers in India, and by late 2025, more than one in four digital borrowers under the age of 30 were delinquent on personal loans below ₹50,000. For many, a temporary disruption such as a job loss, medical emergency or income instability can quickly escalate into mounting debt, repeated recovery calls, legal notices and long-term damage to their financial credibility.

Despite the scale of the problem, debt resolution remains one of the least digitised and most fragmented segments of financial services.

Credfix has built an AI-first platform that acts as a trusted companion for borrowers through every stage of repayment difficulty. Rather than simply addressing missed payments, Credfix helps borrowers understand their financial obligations, evaluate their options, communicate effectively with lenders, interpret legal notices, and make informed decisions with confidence and dignity.

Founded in 2025 by Ranjan Agarwal, Neeraj Kulkarni and Ayush Kedia, Credfix was born from the founders’ first-hand experience working with banks and fintech companies in debt recovery. They observed that a significant proportion of borrowers genuinely intended to repay their loans but lacked credible guidance, transparent information and structured support during periods of financial hardship. Recognising this unmet need, the founders reimagined Credfix as an AI-first, borrower-centric platform focused on enabling financial recovery rather than merely facilitating collections.

Ranjan Agarwal, Co-founder, Credfix, said, “Financial distress is often accompanied by confusion, anxiety and a lack of trustworthy guidance. We believe borrowers deserve better. At Credfix, we are using artificial intelligence to simplify one of the most complex financial experiences, empowering individuals with clarity, confidence and actionable solutions. This investment marks an important milestone in our journey and will help us build technology that supports millions of borrowers in navigating debt with greater transparency and dignity.”

Unlike conventional debt-management platforms that focus only on credit-score improvement or loan refinancing, Credfix covers the complete lifecycle, from early signs of distress through structured resolution and eventual financial rehabilitation. By combining intelligent automation with personalised guidance, the platform creates better outcomes for borrowers while enabling more efficient engagement between borrowers and lenders.

The platform brings together three key AI-led solutions:

●          Risi, an AI financial assistant that helps borrowers understand their debt and identify practical resolution pathways.

●          Neytra, an AI Call Shield that helps manage recovery-related calls, provides call summaries and documents potential concerns around collection practices.

●          An AI Legal Assistant that helps borrowers understand legal notices, prepare draft responses for their review and identify appropriate next steps.

“India has built remarkable infrastructure to distribute credit, but very few solutions to help borrowers when repayment gets hard. That gap is a large, unaddressed problem, and it’s growing as millions of young borrowers enter the system. Credfix is built on a simple but powerful insight: borrowers who are supported and guided effectively are more likely to repay. This creates lasting value for everyone in the credit ecosystem. The early traction shows how strong the demand is, and we’re excited to back the team as they scale,” said Shashank Sabesan, Principal, Tanglin Venture Partners.

“Resolving a loan typically involves multiple disconnected interactions across lenders, recovery agencies and legal processes. Our vision is to unify this fragmented journey through AI, enabling borrowers to access timely, personalised and actionable support on a single platform. We are building technology that makes financial recovery simpler, faster and significantly less stressful,” said Neeraj Kulkarni, Co-founder, Credfix.

With this latest investment, Credfix aims to accelerate its vision of becoming India’s most trusted AI-powered financial recovery platform, helping millions of borrowers resolve debt responsibly, rebuild their creditworthiness and confidently re-enter the formal financial system.
