Bharti Real Estate’s Abhigyan continues to bridge industry and academia with IGDTUW student engagement at Worldmark Aerocity
New Delhi: Bharti Real Estate, the real estate arm of Bharti Enterprises and owner of the Worldmark brand, continued its industry-academia engagement initiative Abhigyan with a field visit for students from Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW), New Delhi, at Worldmark Aerocity.
Launched as an experiential platform to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world application, Abhigyan brings students closer to the processes, technologies and expertise involved in conceptualising and delivering large-scale real estate developments. Following its inaugural engagement with students from IIT Delhi, the initiative continues to create opportunities for students to gain first-hand understanding of the built environment through direct interaction with industry professionals.
Held on the occasion of World Architecture Day, the engagement provided an opportunity to highlight the role of architectural design and planning in shaping modern urban environments. The IGDTUW students participated in an immersive learning experience focused on architectural design, urban planning, structural systems and building engineering, gaining insights into how these disciplines come together in the planning and execution of a large-scale commercial development.
As part of the continued engagement, students from Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW) visited Worldmark Aerocity for an immersive learning experience focused on the architectural and engineering aspects of a large-scale commercial development. During the visit, students gained first-hand insights into how architectural concepts and urban planning principles translate into the design and execution of a global business district. The session covered key aspects including architectural design concepts, master planning, landscape architecture, structural elements, construction techniques and architectural finishes, while also providing an understanding of engineering and technology applications such as long-span structural systems, post-tensioning, double-glazed façades, central HVAC and MEP systems.
The session was led by two senior architects associated with the Worldmark development, who engaged with the students and shared practical insights into the design approach, technical considerations and execution challenges involved in creating a global business district. The interaction allowed students to connect concepts studied in the classroom with their application on an active, large-scale development.
The visit also provided students with an understanding of how architectural vision, structural engineering, building services, landscape design and construction methodologies need to work in tandem to create a cohesive and functional urban environment.
Speaking on the continuation of Abhigyan, Mr. S. K. Sayal, MD & CEO, Bharti Real Estate, said “Abhigyan is our effort to bring the classroom closer to the real world and give young minds an opportunity to see how ideas, technical expertise and collaboration come together to create large-scale developments. Our engagement with IGDTUW is particularly meaningful as it gives aspiring women architects an opportunity to interact with professionals and understand the diverse disciplines that shape the built environment. We hope these experiences encourage students to explore the sector with greater curiosity and confidence and inspire them to contribute to India’s rapidly evolving urban landscape.”
The engagement with IGDTUW builds on Bharti Real Estate’s vision of making Abhigyan an ongoing industry-academia platform, with interactions designed around the specific academic disciplines and interests of participating institutions. Through curated site visits, expert interactions and practical learning sessions, the initiative seeks to provide students with a more comprehensive understanding of the real estate and infrastructure ecosystem.
