Mangaldai : MP of No 8 Mangaldai Loksabha constituency and National General Secretary of the ruling BJP party Dilip Kumar Saikia has emphasized on bringing transparency in the process of distribution of fund under MP Local Area Development by which the opportunity for possible corruption could also be checked. ‘ I believe that this is not my money , it is the money accrued from taxes paid by the public. So everything surrounding it must be transparent right from the distribution of the first installment. Hence we are here for mass distribution of fund sanction letters.’ , said MP Saikia .
The Mangaldai parliamentarian on Tuesday afternoon took part in a public function here in the Sanatan Dharma Sabha premises where he ceremonially launched the distribution of sanction letters of the first installment of grant in aids of MPLAD (2019-20) involving an amount of nearly Rs 80 lakhs against 36 sanctioned schemes in four assembly constituencies of Darrang. Reiterating his stand against the alleged earlier corrupt practices involving MPLAD fund, Saikia urged upon the officials of the Deputy Commissioner’s establishment to refrain from alleged practices of ‘commission’ and official red tapism and ensure quick release of the fund . The BJP MP in the same breath warned the party workers against any kind of alleged ‘Dadagiri’ (holiganism) there by affecting the chain of function in stead extend cooperation and monitor for proper utilization of the fund. The ceremony was also attended by President ,Darrang Zila Parishad Dhirendra Nath Deka, Darrang Deputy Commissioner Dilip Kumar Borah, District Development Commissioner Subhalaksmi Deka, senior party leaders and representatives of relevant beneficiary construction committees .
