Mangaldai : Darrang police has managed to avert a blue print of ULFA (I) to recruit new young caders and extortion bid in Darrang and Udalguri and while arrested seven persons including a Protalk ULFA leader in this connection . Briefing this before media Superintendent of Police Darrang, Amrit Bhuyan here at his office on Thursday evening said that the ULFA (I) has prepared a blue print to target youths from economically poorer section for their recruitment in the organization which could be revealed after the arrest of Khanindra Kalita @ Jyotish (29) , Hiren Kalita (35) both residents of Kamargaon village and Dharmendra Deka (26) of Naptapara village all under Sipajhar PS of the district. ” They were directly in link with the senior ULFA leaders in Myanmar. On the basis of their statement we have arrested two youths namely Bolen Deka (38) and Dhrubajyoti Baisya (37) from Harisinga PS in Udalguri district.” said Superintendent of Police Bhuyan. ‘ The week long investigation under supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police Ujjal Pratim Baruah and Deputy Superintendent of Police Mamani Hazarika has led to the arrest of protalk ULFA leader Prasanna Saikia @ Prasenjit Chaliha (58) of Kabikara village under Mangaldai PS and Ashim Adhikari @ Raj Dutta (27) of Pandu under Jalukbari PS on Thursday. Superintendent of Police Bhuyan also claimed that the blue print was also made ready to recruit four youths within a short time and carry them for training through Sivsagar during the period of ensuing Magh Bihu. Moreover preparations are afoot to serve extortion notices to prominent businessmen and industrialists of the area. Police has also seized some blank pads in the letter head of ULFA (I) and seven mobile handsets from their possession.
