5-day largest plastic virtual exhibition “Plastiworld” Starting from January 19

Aimed at generating business worth Rs 1000 crore with participating stakeholders from as many as 68 countries, registration of 12,000 plus visitors, the biggest ever virtual plastic packaging exhibition Plastiworld is being organized from January 19, 2021. This mega event has been conceptualized by the All India Plastics Manufacturers Association (AIPMA) one of the oldest & largest apex bodies of the plastic industry in India with more than 20,000 industry members from all over India. The members represent more than 175 cities in various segment of the industry.

Plastiworld is India’s leading trade show for finished plastic product manufacturers and buyers enabling them to meet, connect, and grow together. Main objective of the virtual exhibition and B2B event is to increase exports of plastic products from India and also to ensure reduction of imports of such products thereby helping the industry to become ‘Atmnirbhar’. The mega event is supported by the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Govt of India, CIPET and 15 major associations and institutions in the country.

The event will connect Plastic buyers from major importing countries with plastics manufacturing companies in India.Indian plastics manufacturers would get the opportunity to globally launch new products, explore new markets and promote their products through this initiative. This would also help industries in plastics sector to interact with key decision makers to build customer relationships towards potential market penetration as well.

In the backdrop of the overwhelming response it has received for the registration, it is expected to prove India’s first biggest virtual plastic exhibition. Amid the presence of stakeholders at all levels from CEO’s, Vice President’s, Directors, Head of Departments, Head of Operations to Managing Directors, Deputy Managers, the 5-day virtual event is expected to gather renowned industry leaders and prominent decision-makers from around the globe. Such an exceptional feat is a first in the history of the Indian plastic packaging industry.

Business visitors and buyers from 68 countries including USA, Singapore, Malaysia, Italy, Germany, Korea, Indonesia, Taiwan, Turkey, Thailand, Bangkok, Vietnam, among many others, are planning to make their presence known in the virtual event. To ensure seamless communication between the buyers and exhibitors, the Expo will provide 5 halls, 9 virtual conferences, online matchmaking and on-demand tech support. This will help create opportunities to meet, network and share packaging knowledge. All of this will take place right from the comfort of home/office, with zero cost set up and running costs. Each meeting will be pre-fixed and buyers will have a unique opportunity to connect with exhibitors in a planned and structured way.

Mr. Chandrakant Turakhia, President AIPMA said, “We aim to create unlimited opportunities for packaging buyers and plastic packaging manufacturers in terms of networking, great deals, branding and discovering packaging innovations. Our event will also help companies from outside India to find packaging manufacturers in India, thereby facilitating export enhancement and import substitution.”

Mr. Arvind Mehta, Chairman, Governing Council, AIPMA said that Plastiworld will open the doors for the Indian manufacturers to the global market. He further said that the event will give big boost to export from India.The plastics industry in India constitutes of 50,000+ plastics processing units of which 90% are MSME’s. The sector directly employs more than 50 Lakh people and contributes more than Rs. 3 Lakh crore to the country’s GDP.

The All India Plastics Manufacturers’ Association (AIPMA) was founded by Industry visionaries 75 years ago making it one of the oldest & largest apex bodies of the Plastic Industry in India. 90% of Membership of AIPMA is from the MSME sector.
