Pro Poor Scheme Launched by BTR

Kokrajhar: Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) chief executive member Pramod Boro on Friday announced launching of new schemes to uplift the overall socio-economic condition in the region especially of poor and marginalized.

Briefing media persons at a Press meet today in Kokrajhar, the BTR chief said the newly elected BTR government in last two months have made sincere endeavors to uplift the overall socio-economic condition in the region especially of poor and marginalized. 

He said in its first Executive Council meeting itself BTR government has taken a historic decision to provide land title to the landless and so far 17,500 families have been given Land Patta. He “Through an amendment of the VCDC guidelines, the promise made during the election campaign through its manifesto has given 33% reservation to the women. Relentless efforts have been made in last two months of the government to bring revolutionary change in health, education, employment and all sectors of socio-economic development, he said.

He stated that with the purpose to provide relief to the poor, ensure equitable distribution of public wealth and expedite the process of sustainable development new schemes have been launched. 

The new schemes includes “Onsungthai” to provide financial assistance to ailing, elderly, poor disables, meritorious students from poor socio-economic background. 100 E-Rickshaws to unemployed youth under Bodoland Swaniyojon Yojna. 30,000/- to SHGs under Bodoland Swaniyojon Yojna. 

100,000/- for promoting Bio-Flock Fisheries Bodoland Swaniyojon Yojna.

Bodoland Ansai Yojna to provide Rs. 10,000/- to riot victim families. 

Bodoland Atma Nirbhar Yojna to provide 400 nos of Chairs and 1 Mike Set to each of the VCDCs. Bodoland Gwrib Kalyan Yojna to provide Rs. 10,000/- to rickshaw/Thela Pullers/Daily Wage Earners . Layer Farms with Rs. 100,000/- to each of the VCDCs. Bodoland Yuva Vikash Yojna to provide sports gears to the sports clubs. Bodoland Swaniyojan Yojna to provide Rs. 10,000/- each to the returnee migrants during the Covid-19 imposed nationwide lockdown. Bodoland Sanswrang Bithanki to provide solar lights to all VCDCs. Bodoland Fwnangjab Bithanki to provide mobile handsets to all registered Gaonburas and Village Organizations. Bodoland Gram Prashari Yojna to provide financial assistance to all Village Defends Parties. Bodoland Vikash Yojna to provide financial assistance for various skill development programme. School bags to all the government school students from Class-I to Class VIII and Bi-Cycle for all the  government school students from class IX to Class XII. 

“Our government is committed to alleviate the poverty in the region. Unlike the previous government we are not interested in distributing yarn and blankets but provide assistance to meet the genuine needs of the poor people. In just two months time of our tenure, we have been able to do justice to the promises that we made, in next five years time we fully committed to bring about revolutionary change in all spheres of development”, he said.
