New Delhi : Corona virus infection is spreading extremely fast in the country these days. New cases of corona infection are being reported in record numbers day by day. At the same time, a large number of people are also dying. Meanwhile, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has also expressed concern over the deteriorating corona epidemic situation in the country. He has also written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In this, he has made important suggestions to fight corona. He said there is a need to increase vaccination in the country to tackle corona. In a letter to PM Modi, Dr Manmohan Singh has said that the government should make public which vaccine manufacturing company has been ordered for the next 6 months.

The former Prime Minister in his letter has said  that if we vaccinate a fixed number of people in this 6 months time, we need to place adequate orders for the dose. So that they can be available to us in time. Manmohan Singh has also suggested that the government should also show how the dose of these corona vaccines will be distributed to the states in a transparent manner. Manmohan Singh has said that instead of looking at how many people were vaccinated, we should look at the percentage of the population vaccinated. He said, the government should be allowed to set up frontline workers categories to states. So that frontline workers engaged in essential services who are below 45 years of age and who have been categorized as frontline workers by the State Governments can also be vaccinated. In his letter, Manmohan Singh said, India has emerged as the world’s largest vaccine maker. It is commendable.

The Government should provide necessary funds and other assistance to the vaccine manufacturing companies so that the production of the vaccine continues to be large. He said that at present, the law should bring in necessary licensing provisions so that more and more companies can produce vaccines under licences. In his last suggestion, Manmohan Singh said that the vaccine supply in the country is still limited. In such a situation, if any vaccine is given the green signal by any trusted authority of the world, we should also import it. We can do this in India without its trial. At present, there is an emergency in India. He can be tried in the country as well as at the time of his use in an emergency. It may be recalled that the corona epidemic is at its peak in the country. According to the latest data of the Union Health Ministry, a record 2,61,500 new corona cases have been reported in the country in the last 24 hours. During this period, 1501 people died.
