Kokrajhar: Kokrajhar Deputy Commissioner Varnali Deka on Friday felicitated flag bearers of Smart Papa Campaign in recognition of their contributions and continued work in promoting the cause of fathers taking responsibility of the nutritive care and well-being of their children and families.
The Smart Papa Campaign had been launched by the Kokrajhar district administration to encourage all the fathers to take responsibility of their children and families.
Under this campaign, various activities among the fathers are held in Anganwadi centres, schools and colleges on the themes like ‘How well they know their wards?’, quiz competitions and team bonding activities wherein fathers were teamed up with their wards, school authorities are encouraging to attend parent-teacher meetings, where usually mothers are seen to attend.
On the occasion, a total of six smart fathers namely Lohit Narzary, Himangshu Poddar, Md Jalaludddin Sheikh, Sabiram Basumatary, Rupendra Barman and Phanindra Roy were felicitated by the Deputy Commissioner. They have provided exemplary and diligent guidance in their roles.
Moreover, Deputy Commissioner Varnali Deka felicitated Poshan Club of Nabajyoti High School of Hawripet for their contributions in implementing various activities of Poshan Club and creating awareness among the masses, for good performance in the month of April, 2022. Every month, one or two schools would be felicitated for best and innovative activities under Poshan Clubs.
To have children as key drivers for societal, attitudinal and behavioral changes in health, wellness, nutritive care and habits, Poshan Clubs were launched in all 1,614 schools of Kokrajhar district and through Bal Sansad, village outreach programmes are being organized and Poshan messages were vested right down to family units.
Deka appreciated the active role being played district education department and all schools of the district in this regard.
