International Yoga Day being celebrated in Maharashtra

International  Day of Yoga is being celebrated in Maharashtra including Mumbai. Under the cloud of Covid-19 pandemic, various virtual sessions and programmes will be held in Mumbai to celebrate the day. Similarly some special Physical sessions are also being held at many places in Maharashtra with all the necessary precaution following COVID19 guidelines. In the backdrop of Covid-19 pandemic Mumbaikars are celebrating the international day of Yoga by attending the virtual sessions of Yoga as the importance of Yoga is proving vital for them to keep Covid-19 at bay.
 
Bollywood  celebrities like Akshay Kumar, Shilpa Shetty, Anushka Sharma and Milind Soman have encouraged people to participate in the celebrations from their homes and adopt the healthy lifestyle. 
 
On the occasion of International Day of Yoga , Films Division is screening a series of public awareness films under Celebrities Speak, highlighting importance of Yoga for physical and mental well being.
 
The multilingual collage of ten short films featuring celebrities from all over India is being streamed for 24 hours today on Films Division’s website. Similarly various regular Yoga sessions with all the precautions following Covid-19 guidelines are being held across the state.
 
Shashikumar Bhatlavande a blind Yoga Teacher from Osmanabad who is practicing Yoga for past 15 years has become a Yoga Icon as he has conducted more than 200 Pranayam Sessions and trained more than 5 lakh people and 2 lakh students in Maharashtra.
