A case is registered against Fort CI and 3 other policemen for threatening and causing bodily hurt to an activist

Thiruvananthapuram: A Court here took cognizance against Fort Circle Inspector J Rakesh and other three Sub Inspectors for threatening and causing bodily hurt to an activist.

Mr Ashish from Manacaud, filed complaints against Fort CI before various authorities as part of his social activism. Due to this vendetta, Fort CI falsely registered case against Mr Ashish under KAAPA Act. Mr Ashish filed appeal before KAAPA Advisory Board and  established his innocence. After that Mr Ashish had filed a defamation suit before the Munsiff’s Court Thiruvananathapuram against the Circle Inspector. A furious CI along with three other sub inspectors, of Fort Police Station booked Ashish based on a false complaint filed by Mr Sulaiman. On 28.5.23, the police took Mr Ashish to the police station and compelled him to withdraw all cases filed against the Circle Inspector. While disagreeing with this demand, Mr Ashish was threatened and harassed by the policemen. Thereafter Mr Ashish had filed a private complaint against the Fort CI and other policemen for threatening and causing bodily hurt to him. Judicial First Class Magistrate – II Thiruvananthapuram took cognizance against the CI and other policemen based on this complaint. Advocate Shobby Joseph appeared for the petitioner Mr Ashish.
