ABWA Students Triumph at Prestigious FIRST Robotics Competition

Mumbai: Aditya Birla World Academy’s (ABWA) robotics team, Binary Bolts (Team 8570), has made history by winning the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) 10,000 Lakes Regional in Minnesota, USA. Competing against 51 teams from around the world, Binary Bolts emerged as regional champions—a testament to their unwavering dedication, teamwork, and technical excellence. Their remarkable achievement brings immense pride to India.

This incredible victory highlights the global caliber of Indian students in STEM and reflects ABWA’s commitment to fostering excellence in robotics and innovation. Binary Bolts’ journey is far from over—they now set their sights on the final round in Houston, USA, from April 16 to 19, 2025, determined to push boundaries and inspire the next generation of robotics enthusiasts.

About FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) is one of the most prestigious high school robotics competitions in the world, challenging students to design, build, and program industrial-sized robots to compete in complex, team-based challenges. Teams work under strict time constraints to develop innovative solutions while fostering a spirit of collaboration, creativity, and STEM excellence. Participating in FRC enhances technical skills and prepares students for engineering, programming, and problem-solving leadership roles.

Led by Team Captain Nirvaan Zaveri, the Binary Bolts showcased outstanding performance throughout the competition. Nirvaan, who also served as the team’s driver, played a pivotal role in securing the championship, leading the team to breach the 200-point mark on three separate occasions, including in the high-stakes finals.
