Accident Simulation: Bus vs Car at Air Force Premises KIMSHEALTH Conducts Disaster Management Mock Drill in Association with Air Force

Thiruvananthapuram : KIMSHEALTH , in association with the Indian Air Force, conducted a disaster management mock drill at the Indian Air Force premises, simulating a ‘Bus vs Car’ accident scenario. The exercise led by Dr. Shameem K.U.,  Consultant and Clinical Director, Department of Emergency Medicine, KIMSHEALTH, was aimed at training medical professionals, and emergency responders as to how to effectively manage mass casualty incidents under controlled emergency conditions.

A total of 15 simulated victims were managed during the drill, and based on triage, seven critically injured  were categorized as Red (Immediate), five requiring urgent care were categorized as Yellow (Delayed), and three  with minor injuries were categorized as Green (Minor)

Doctors from various medical and surgical departments led the rescue operations, ensuring systematic triage, prompt stabilization, and seamless inter-departmental coordination. A post drill debriefing and critique session was convened, bringing together representatives from various  departments of KIMSHEALTH, alongside officials from the Indian Air Force.
