Tirupati: Committed to promoting cleaner and efficient cooking solutions, AG&P Pratham, India’s leading City Gas Distributor, activated its 1st commercial PNG connection establishment to Edify School’s kitchen, located at Vaishnavi Nagar in Tiruchanur. The school has now switched to using piped natural gas (PNG) as its cooking fuel. This initiative aims to provide the school with a convenient, pocket-friendly and most importantly eco-friendly cooking fuel option. During the inaugural ceremony, Mr. Praneeth, Chairman Edify School along with senior management from AG&P Pratham, ignited the canteen gas stove in the Edify School marking the commencement of kitchen operations powered by PNG.
Edify School canteen serves meals to over 2,000 members including the students and the management. AG&P Pratham has installed 148 Kilometres of PE network in the city and plans to lay an additional 130 Kilometres by the end of 2024 in Tirupati covering many households and commercial establishments.
AG&P Pratham’s efforts align with the vision of the Andhra Pradesh state government, which aims to develop a City Gas Distribution (CGD) network across the entire state. To ensure a continuous supply of clean household fuel, AG&P Pratham has installed a trunk pipeline from Thiruttani to Tirupati, which will provide gas to major industrial, commercial, and domestic customers in Tirupati.
According to Mr. Gautam Anand, Regional Head & Assistant Vice President, AG&P Pratham, the PNG supply is expected to reduce the commercial kitchen’s fuel bill. This collaboration between the school and AG&P Pratham highlights the company’s commitment to incentivizing sustainable practices in Tirupati district. With AG&P Pratham’s PNG connections being ultra-safe, convenient and most importantly economical, a seamlessly transition was completed with utmost ease. By switching to PNG, the school can enjoy exclusive benefits, including substantial cost savings of 20-30% compared to LPG cylinders. Additionally, piped gas connections ensure secure and hassle-free daily usage by eliminating the need for booking, storage, and handling of LPG cylinders.”
