All India Conference of Directors General and Inspectors General of Police begins in Jaipur

Jaipur: A three-day All India Conference of Directors General and Inspectors General of Police 2023 began today at the Rajasthan International Centre in Jaipur. Home minister Amit Shah was present in the inaugural session. A wide range of policing and internal security issues including cybercrime, counter-terrorism challenges, left-wing extremism, and prison reforms will be discussed during the event. Another key agenda of the conference is to deliberate on the road map for implementation of the new criminal code laws. Discussion will also be held on futuristic themes in policing and security like the challenges posed by new technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Deepfake, and ways to deal with them. The conference is attended by National Security Advisor and senior officials.

More than 80 senior officials of police and various agencies are participating in this conference. Apart from them, around 200 officials will participate through video conference. A total of eight sessions will be held during the conference. Two sessions are scheduled to be held on the first day today.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reach Jaipur today. He will preside over a meeting of BJP leaders at the party’s state headquarters this evening. Our correspondent reports that elaborate security arrangements have also been made across the city ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit.
