In Jammu & Kashmir, an unidentified militant has been killed in an ongoing operation in South Kashmir’s Awantipora area of Pulwama district.
Security sources said that the security forces launched search operation on the basis of a tip-off about the presence of some militants in the orchard area of Kawni Brabindina Awantipora area during wee hours the previous night. They said that as the forces zeroed in on the suspected place, the hiding militants fired indiscriminately triggering an exchange of fire between the two sides leading to killing one militant. The identity of the slain militant is being ascertained.
Sources added that the operation is underway and further details are awaited.
