Apollo Hospitals and Avadi Police Commissionerate Organise Health Camp for Police Personnel and Their Families Under ‘Kaval Kudumbam’ Scheme
Chennai : Apollo Speciality Hospitals, Vanagaram, in association with the Avadi Police Commissionerate, organised a general health camp for police personnel and their dependants under the ‘Kaval Kudumbam’ (Police Family) Scheme. Held at the Avadi Police Convention Centre, the camp witnessed participation from more than 500 beneficiaries, with health check-ups focusing on non-communicable diseases (NCDs), including diabetes and hypertension.
The Kaval Kudumbam Scheme is a welfare initiative of the Tamil Nadu Police Department aimed at supporting police personnel and their families. The health camp provided an opportunity to highlight the importance of regular health assessments and the early identification of NCDs, which can often remain undetected until complications arise.
Dr Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal, IPS, Director General of Police and Head of Police Force, Tamil Nadu, attended the event as the Chief Guest. Dr Vaneetha Aggarwal, President of Kaval Kudumbam, presided over the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Kaarthik Ramamurthy, Chief Operating Officer, Apollo Speciality Hospitals, Vanagaram, Chennai, said: “Police personnel spend their lives looking out for others, and their health and families deserve the same care and attention. Through initiatives such as Kaval Kudumbam, we hope to make quality healthcare more accessible and encourage early detection, helping them and their families lead healthier lives. At Apollo Hospitals, we believe that meaningful healthcare begins with prevention, strong partnerships and a commitment to caring for every life.”
Through collaborations with public institutions, Apollo Hospitals continues to support greater access to healthcare and promote awareness of conditions such as diabetes and hypertension. Such initiatives underscore the importance of timely screening and medical intervention in improving long-term health outcomes.
