Description:
“How the Akanksha Children Found Their Colours” is a heartwarming show that brings together children from underserved communities to artfully express themselves as they reimagine art of icons such as Vincent Van Gogh, MF Hussain, Jamini Roy and more as well as other forms of art.
The show highlights the journey of these children who despite their respective backgrounds see their lives in full colour.
Who, when given a language to see the world, can show you wonders you will not believe in places you will not be looking!
Some of their artworks include Van Gogh’s ‘Starry Night’ reimagined in the Bombay Skyline followed by art that connects Tanjore to people who matter to them like Gods – their mothers.
Art works culminated by teachings of M F Hussain and Georgia O’Keeffe.
Taking from Banksy’s stencil art where they learn and respect the world and see themselves as active participants.
And through it all, realising that Art could be their lifelong passion.
We invite you to see how all that brings us down in this world, can be very different…. come see what hope looks like in the wildest and brightest of colours.
Come listen to the story of how the Akanksha children found their colours.
The show opens on the 29th of May at 47 A Khotachiwadi.
