Asian markets show mixed response, European markets trade in negative territory

Singapore: Major Asian stocks ended mixed today. South Korea’s Kospi index closed over 1.2 per cent up, supported by a global rally in technology shares, and Singapore’s Strait Times index rose 0.4 per cent. Conversely, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index fell over half per cent and China’s Shanghai Composite index as well as Japan’s Nikkei, both ended flat. Major European indices were trading in negative territory during intra-day trade. Germany’s DAX declined almost 0.4 per cent, and London’s FTSE 100 as well as France’s CAC 40, both were trading over 0.1 per cent down, when reports last came in.
