Assam Assembly Public Accounts Committee reviews govt schemes in Kokrajhar

Kokrajhar: The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the Assam Legislative Assembly on Friday reviewed the implementation of various government schemes and projects at a meeting held at DC’s conference hall in Kokrajhar on Friday late evening around 8 pm to 10 pm.

A 6 member Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the Assam Legislative Assembly led by MLA and Chairman Wazed Ali Choudhury in the morning had made a field visit to assess the progress and status of various schemes and projects implemented by the various departments in the district.

The committee expressed satisfaction over progress of the schemes and urged the district administration not to compromise with the standard while implementing the schemes.

The team comprises Ramendra Narayan Kalita, Basanta Das, Bhabendra Nath Bharali, Hafiz Basir Ahmed and Gobindo Basumatary. Local MLAs Lorence Islary, Jiron Basumatary and Jayanta Basumatary were also present  during the field visit.

The team visited Champamati erosion protection at Karigaon, Medical College & Cancer Care Centre, Kokrajhar- Khalugaon PWD road, newly constructed building of Ramendra Narayan Basumatary Civil hospital, water supply scheme at Gossaigaon bazar, Bauraguri- Gurufella PWD, Pipe water supply scheme in Kokrajhar town, Patgaon veterinary hospital etc.

The meeting was also attended by Kokrajhar Deputy Commissioner Varnali Deka and district heads of the departments.
