Assam class 10 results out, 93.10% pass

GUWAHATI: After much speculation and controversies, the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) has finally announced the results of the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examinations and Assam High Madrassa (AHM) on Friday.

The pass percentage of HSLC exam is 93.10%, the best ever results in SEBA’s history. In 2020, the results had shown improvement by about four per cent, compared to 2019 results. While the pass percentage in 2020 was 64.80, the corresponding figure was 60.23 in the previous year.

A whooping 30 per cent upsurge was recorded in the HSLC exam results.

This year, the SEBA has cancelled the HSLC exam due to the second wave of Coviud-19 pandemic situation in the state.

The results were announced on the basis of past academic performance of the students. There was no declaration of the names of rank holders this time. However, SEBA will issue digital marksheets to students who clear the HSLC exam.

Of 426553 students appeared in the examination, 397132 candidates were declared pass.

Of 426553 students, 197565 are male and 228988 are female.

88521 students secured first division, 160298 secured second division and 148313 students secured third division.

The pass percentage of males is 93.34% while that of females is 92.90%.

A total of 10,348 students have secured distinction marks (510 & above) while 20,092 students have secured star marks (450 & above).

The Biswanath district topped the HSLC exam with 99.40% pass percentage, while Baksa stood at second position with 98.91% pass percentage.

The pass percent in four districts stood above 97%. They are: Sivasagar (97.77), Majuli (97.66) Chirang (97.66) Hailakandi (97.39) Nalbari (97.18).

The Assam High Madrassa (AHM) examination 2021 results were also declared on Friday morning. There was a phenomenal rise in the pass percentage in the AHM examination as well, with a near 30 per cent rise in pass percentage.

From last year’s 63.67 percent, the pass percentage in the AHM examination has gone up to 93.18 per cent.

Of 12,275 students who appeared for Assam High Madrassa (AHM) examination, 11,438 were declared pass.

The pass percentage for AHM examination stands at 93.18%.

Of the 12,275 AHM candidates, a total of 1759 candidates secured first division, 5586 secured second and 4093 secured third division.

Udalguri district topped the list with 100% pass percentage followed by Baksa with 99.42% while Chirang and Cachar stood at 98.81% and 98.52%.

Around 4723 male and 7552 female students appeared for the AHM exam.

The male pass percent stood at 93.58% while the female pass percent stood at 92.93%. A total of 83 students have secured distinction marks while 288 students secured star marks.
