GUWAHATI : Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday challenged  Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to call him corrupt during his visit to the state on April 2, 2023. He challenged the Delhi Chief Minister to prove a single case against him in any part of India. “I have not filed any case yet. Is there any case pending against me all over the country? I wanted to file a defamation suit, but Arvind Kejriwal spoke inside the Assembly like a coward. So let them come to Assam on April 2 and say that there is pending  case  against Himanta Biswa Sarma. “

Himanta Biswa Sarma has threatened to file a case against Kejriwal immediately. Speaking to reporters, Sarma said, “I will sue him immediately. I challenge them to show even a single case against me. What’s the case against me? Let him come on April 2 and say a word against me that I am corrupt and now I am going to file a defamation case. I have done the same with Manish Sisodia. Recently, Aam Aadmi Party state coordinator Dr. Bhaben Chowdhury took a dig at Sarma and listed some of the urban problems in Guwahati city. Chaudhary took to his personal Twitter handle and pointed out that traffic lights in the city have stopped working and people are suffering from waterlogging during the rainy season. Kejriwal will visit Guwahati on April 2, 2023, along with Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, to strengthen his party’s presence in the state.

The AAP has accused the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of corruption in the state and claimed that people in Assam are disappointed. However, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann are scheduled to visit Guwahati on April 2 to address a large gathering. According to the AAP, the leaders want to significantly strengthen the party organisation ahead of the upcoming rural elections in the state later this year and the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. Aap has committees in each of the state’s 31 districts, which have grown with minor impact in the state. According to AAP’s northeast in-charge Rajesh Sharma, Kejriwal and Mann ji will be in Guwahati on Sunday. In this regard, the party’s regional office has invited its leader Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for the visit.
