In Assam, Chief Minister Sarbanand Sonowal will visit flood affected areas like Chirang, Bongaigaon districts today.
Over 24 lakh people are still reeling under the fury of flood in the state though the situation has improved. 86 persons have lost their lives. 48 thousand displaced people are taking shelter at relief camps.
Meanwhile, Kaziranga national park authorities reported that 143 wild animals were rescued from the floods and 116 animals lost their lives that include 9 rhinos and 41 hog deers. 90 percent of the park is submerged.
