Assam CM visits proposed site for Prime Minister Modi’s programme at Dibrugarh

 GUWAHATI : In view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's proposed visit to Dibrugarh on April 28, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma today visited Khanikar Police Reserve area to oversee the possibility of using the area as the venue for the programme. He took stock of the entire area and asked the concerned officers to initiate all necessary steps to remove all glitches for the successful conduct of the public function of the Prime Minister. Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Rameswar Teli, Agriculture Minister Atul Bora, Health and Family Welfare Minister Keshab Mahanta and Senior officers of State government were present during the visit. Chief Minister Sarma as a part of his one-day tour to Dibrugarh today, also visited the Cancer Hospital being built in Dibrugarh under Cancer Care Foundation.

He took stock of all the facilities put in place in the hospital which will be dedicated to the people by the Prime Minister on April 28. Dr. Sarma also held discussion with the doctors and construction engineers and reviewed the final stage works of the hospital. The Chief Minister also held a meeting with DC Dibrugarh and other senior officers of the State government and asked them to take all steps to make the Prime Minister's visit successful. It is to be mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit will inaugurate seven Cancer Hospitals out of 10 in the state and lay foundation stone for another seven Cancer hospitals from Dibrugarh. Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Rameswar Teli, Health and Family Welfare Minister Keshab Mahanta, Finance Minister Ajanta Neog, Agriculture Minister Atul Bora, Tea Tribe Welfare Minister Sanjay Kisan, several MLAs were present during the meeting.
