Guwahathi: The Assam government has started construction work of 119 model high schools at tea garden areas today. Classrooms, teachers’ restrooms, separate toilets for Divyangs, girls and boys among others will be constructed in the proposed model schools.
The foundation laying ceremony was held today at various districts. Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal laid the foundation stone of a model high school at Mekipur tea garden in Sivasagar district. Union Minister Rameshwar Teli and State Health and Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also laid foundation stones at Dibrugarh and Biswanath districts.
