GUWAHATI: The Board of Secondary Education Assam (SEBA) will announce the results of the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination on July 30 at 11 am, whereas the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) will declare HS final year results on July 31 at 9 am.

This was announced by SEBA chairperson RC Jain after the decision was taken in a board meeting on Wednesday morning.

The marking work in the other districts has almost been completed and SEBA is ready to declare the results on July 31, SEBA secretary Suranjana Senapati said.

The results of both the exams will be declared through designated websites, officials of SEBA and AHSEC said here on Wednesday.

Both the examinations were cancelled due to the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic in the state. The students have been assessed on the basis of a record-based marking system.

This time the HSLC/AHM candidates will not get the hard copy of the mark sheets on the day of the declaration of the results.

However, the candidates will be able to check their marks online and they will have to wait a few days to get the hard copy of the mark sheet.

Under the alternative evaluation criteria for HSLC results 2021, a formula of 40:40:20 has been followed. This ratio refers to different weightage allotted to different aspects. To elaborate further, 40% weightage will be given to class IX marks, 40% weightage will be given to class 10 internals and 20% weightage will be given to school-based internal assessment.

As per the alternative evaluation criteria for HS results, a formula of 50:30:10:10 has been followed by the council.

In this 50% weightage will be given to the average of the best 3 subjects of class 10, 30% will be given to class 12 practicals, 10% will be given by schools, and the remaining 10% will be given based on the 90%.

These alternative evaluation criteria came into effect after two expert committees have been set up.

The committee for HSLC results was headed by the former vice chancellor of Dibrugarh University, Dr. Alok Buragohain while the committee for HS results was headed by Prof. Dipak Kumar Sharma.
