Kochi: Aster Medcity, Kochi built ‘Garden of Life’ first of its kind memorial in the state dedicated to organ donors who helped many in their final moments.
Gracie James, the wife of James KJ, who was the first posthumous organ donor in 2015, inaugurated the ‘Garden of Life’ memorial at Aster Medcity on National Organ Donation Day on November 27 . The foundation stone was laid for the memorial by Dr. Azad Moopen, Chairman and Managing Director of Aster DM Healthcare in September.
The memorial which was installed on the hospital premise acknowledges the deceased donors who have donated their organs and saved many lives.Marking the occasion of Organ Donation Day, Aster Medcity employees took a pledge to donate their organs after death.
Dr. T . R. John, Medical Affairs Director-Aster Medcity, Dr. Anup R Warrier, Consultant – Infectious Diseases, Farhan Yasin, Kerala & Oman Regional Director and people from different departments attended the ceremony.
