
Kokrajhar: As part of the celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of Indian independence, a seminar was organised by the Executive Engineer, Kokrajhar (Roads) Division, to create awareness on impact of PMGSY roads on Socio-economic development in Rural Areas” in the conference hall of PWD Kokrajhar Rural Road division today.
Superintending Engineer (Roads & Building) Kokrajhar Abhay Chandra Deka highlighting the purpose of celebrating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav in the country and the role of PMGSY in Socio-economic development in Rural Areas. He informed about the status of PMGSY works in Kokrajhar district. He apprised that since from the starting of PMGSY in the district, with the implementation of PMGSY, the department had able completed 876 km road and connect villages by providing road connectivity in rural areas.
A power point presentation on various aspects of PMGSY was also presented on the occasion.
Chairperson of Kokrajhar Municipal Board Pratibha Brahma in her speech lauded the works of engineers and officials of PWD for the success achieved under this scheme in the district.
The program was also attended by Kokrajhar Additional Deputy commissioner Rajib Das, Executive Engineer PWD Kokrajhar Rural Road division Dharanidhar Boro among others.
