Bank of Baroda organizes Mega Camp in Duttapukur, West Bengal under Financial Inclusion Drive of the Department of Financial Services, Government of India

Bank of Baroda, one of India’s leading public sector banks, organized Mega Camp in Duttapukur, West Bengal today under the Saturation Campaign of the Department of Financial Services (DFS), Ministry of Finance, Government of India. The campaign, running from July 1 to September 30, 2025, aims to ensure 100% coverage of financial inclusion and social security schemes at the Gram Panchayat (GP) and Urban Local Bodies (ULB) level across the country. The event saw enthusiastic engagement from more than 600 villagers, highlighting the growing need for financial literacy and accessible banking services in rural areas.

The programme was graced by the esteemed presence of Shri Sudhanshu Prasad, Regional Director, Reserve Bank of India; Shri Sanjay Kumar Tiwary, General Manager & Zonal Head, Kolkata Zone, Bank of Baroda; Shri Balbir Singh, General Manager & Convenor, SLBC (West Bengal), Punjab National Bank; Shri Sandeep Kumar, Deputy General Manager & Regional Head, Greater Kolkata Region, Kolkata Zone, Bank of Baroda along with senior officials from the banking fraternity and Government departments.

The camp enabled local communities to access essential financial services, including opening new accounts under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) for unbanked individuals and facilitating enrolment in key social security schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), and Atal Pension Yojana (APY).

Re-KYC drives were conducted for eligible inactive savings accounts under PMJDY, supported by awareness sessions on preventing digital fraud and facilitate claims for unclaimed deposits. Banking Correspondent (BC) Points were established during the initiative. Additionally, cheques were also given to the families of deceased insured members under the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY).
