HYDERABAD  – EV mobility platform Bijliride has announced a partnership with the Telangana Police Women Safety Wing and the State Transport Department to support the newly launched ‘Stree Ride’ initiative. The collaboration focuses on opening up sustainable career opportunities for women by providing direct access to electric vehicles and immediate onboarding onto major passenger ride-hailing apps like Ola, Uber, and Rapido, as well as leading quick-commerce delivery platforms. The project, officially inaugurated by Telangana DGP C.V. Anand, aims to create a safe, supportive entryway for women looking to build independent careers in the mobility and logistics sectors.

To get the program running immediately, Bijliride is deploying its EV fleet to support the first cohort of women currently undergoing specialized driving and safety training across Hyderabad’s police commissionerates. Beyond simply providing the vehicles, the platform simplifies the entire process by handling digital background verification and direct app routing through a single mobile setup. This means instead of facing administrative hurdles, these new drivers can seamlessly log in, pick up passengers or deliveries, and start earning right away.

This initiative is designed around flexibility and making daily operations manageable for women entering the workforce. By combining vehicle access with immediate connection to both passenger rides and commercial deliveries, drivers can adapt their day based on demand, maximizing their time on the road. Early pilot data indicates that keeping the entire process within a unified application reduces idle time and administrative stress, resulting in a 20% boost in daily rider productivity and a much more reliable income.

“The reality is that India’s riding and delivery workforces have traditionally been heavily male-dominated, and we want to change that narrative from the ground up. Our partnership with the ‘Stree Ride’ team is about practical empowerment. We are giving women the vehicles, the technology, and the training they need to step onto the roads with confidence. By smoothing out the tech side of ride-hailing and deliveries, we are making it easier for women to earn on their own terms and build a secure financial future,” said Vishal Vikram, Co-Founder, Bijliride.
