Guwahati: The Himanta Biswa Sarma-led BJP government in Assam has completed two years in office. On this occasion, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is on a day-long visit to Assam to participate in three programs on Thursday. Shah arrived here in the afternoon and attended programmes at two different places – Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra and Khanapara Veterinary College grounds. Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday launched Assam Police’s ‘Seva Setu’ mobile app, which was jointly developed by the Assam Police and the Central Forensic Science Laboratory, and the app will enable people to lodge FIRs, missing person complaints, and tenant verification among others without visiting a police station. In addition, Union Home Minister Amit Shah laid the foundation stone of the Guwahati campus of the National Forensic Science University.Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday said the BJP-led NDA will form the government again in 2024 and Narendra Modi will become the Prime Minister for the third consecutive term.
Here Shah also said that since the Modi government came to power, issues related to three hotspots — Jammu and Kashmir, Northeast and Naxals — have been resolved. The home minister said since surgical strikes were carried out against terrorists inside Pakistan, no foreign power dared to interfere in the internal affairs of the country. “People will decide who will be the next Prime Minister of the country. I have visited every part of the country and felt that a BJP government will be formed again and Modi will become the Prime Minister for the third consecutive time. Shah said this will be the first time since the 1970s that a prime minister will get the people’s mandate for the third consecutive term. Asked about how many seats the NDA will get in the 2024 general elections, the minister said it will be more than 2019. “We (BJP) will get more than 303 seats.
