Bodofa UpendraNath Brahma 33rd death anniversary observed

The 33rd death anniversary of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma, who is fondly regarded as father of the Bodos, was observed in different parts of the state with various programmes.

In Kokrajhar, the All Bodo Students Union and Upendra Nath Brahma Thrust observed the day at Tulungapuri, Dotma, in Kokrajhar.

As per the programme, All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) vice president Kwrwmdao Wary half hoisted the organisational flag followed by floral tributes.

BTR executive member Reoreoa Narzihary, MLAs Lawrence Islary, Jayanta Basumatary, chairperson of Upendra Nath Brahma Thrust and Bodoland University Registrar Dr Subung Basumatary, ABSU general secretary Kanindra Basumatary, leading citizens, students attended the program and paid floral tributes to Bodofa.

In his speech, ABSU vice president Kwrwmdao Wary recalls the contribution of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma saying that Bodofa, as a student leader, had brought about remarkable changes in the lives of the downtrodden through the Bodoland movement. He worked not only for Bodos but also for students and the underprivileged. He also urged all to follow Bodofa’s ideology of peace, harmony and harmony.

The Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) administration also observed the day at BTC Secretariat. Floral tribute was paid at the statue of Bodofa infront of BTC Secretariat.
