BPCL Foundation Supports Haryana’s TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan Through Deployment of 150 TrueNat Diagnostic Machines
Mumbai : Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), a Fortune Global 500 company and a Maharatna PSU, today announced its support for the deployment of 150 TrueNat Molecular Diagnostic Quattro Machines under the Government of Haryana’s “TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan”. The initiative aims to strengthen Tuberculosis (TB) detection and diagnostic infrastructure across the state.
The initiative was formally inaugurated by Shri Nayab Singh Saini, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Haryana, in the presence of Smt. Arti Singh Rao, Hon’ble Health Minister of Haryana, at Panchkula on May 29, 2026.
The project is being implemented through a tripartite collaboration between BPCL Foundation, HLL Infra Tech Services Limited (HITES), and the Directorate General Health Services (DGHS), Haryana, under the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP). The initiative aims to strengthen early detection and rapid diagnosis of Tuberculosis across Haryana.
As part of the project, 150 WHO-endorsed TrueNat Molecular Diagnostic Machines will be deployed across Primary Health Centres (PHCs), Community Health Centres (CHCs), and district healthcare facilities spanning approximately 22 districts of Haryana.
The initiative marks a significant step towards achieving the vision of a “TB Mukt Haryana” and highlights the importance of collaborative efforts between the Government and Public Sector Undertakings in strengthening healthcare accessibility, particularly across rural and underserved regions. By enhancing diagnostic capabilities at the grassroots level, the programme aims to enable early detection and timely treatment of Tuberculosis (TB), contributing to improved public health outcomes.
The TrueNat technology enables rapid and accurate molecular diagnosis of Tuberculosis and Rifampicin-resistant TB, delivering results in nearly one hour. The technology is expected to significantly reduce diagnostic delays and improve access to quality healthcare services in rural and underserved areas.
The project is expected to substantially strengthen decentralized TB diagnostic infrastructure in Haryana, with an estimated annual testing capacity of approximately 5.4 lakh tests. This will enable early identification and treatment of TB cases while helping reduce transmission risks within communities.
The event was also attended by senior officials from the Government of Haryana, including Dr. Sumita Misra, Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Haryana, and Dr. Rajesh Raju, State TB Officer, Haryana. Representing BPCL were Mr. Manish Kumar Garg, State Head (LPG), Delhi, Haryana & Uttarakhand, and Mr. Kelvin Christie, Manager (CSR), BPCL.
Through this initiative, BPCL reaffirms its commitment to nation-building through impactful CSR interventions in healthcare. Aligned with the Government of India’s vision of a “TB Mukt Bharat”, the BPCL Foundation continues to energise lives through sustainable and inclusive healthcare initiatives that address national priorities while promoting community well-being.
