GUWAHATI : Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) Chairman and former Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) chief Hagrama Mohilari has appealed to Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma to conduct a high level inquiry through CBI on the recent encounter incident. Kokrajhar between police and reportedly 2 ULB cadres.
Hagrama Mohilari wrote on her Facebook that Assam CM Dr Himanta Biswa sarma appealed to the Bodoland region to initiate a high level inquiry through CBI into the recent encounter between Kokrajhar in the interest of peace and peace in the bodoland region. He wrote that “at the same time appealed to all sections to maintain harmony and social integrity except any violence in the Bodoland region.” He also appealed that for the greater interest of peace and harmony in the Bodoland region, I placed my appeal to the ULB leadership, an allegedly newly formed organization, to prevent loss of life and public property to avoid any violent activities. Meanwhile, for a peaceful and united environment, I appeal to the ULB leadership to prevent any retaliation or planting bombs to kill innocent people, which could further aggravate the situation in the Bodoland region. Earlier, what could be a new threat to peace in the BTR region of Assam, a new militant outfit has been formed by some youths demanding a separate Bodo state.
