BTC chief promises all round development, held meeting with students and social organisation

Kokrajhar, Jan 4: The Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) authority on Monday held an official meeting with various students and social organisation of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) at BTC Secretariat ground in Kokrajhar. The meeting chaired by BTC chief executive member Pramod Boro was attended by over 30 students and social organisations representing various communities.

BTC Speaker Katiram Boro, deputy chief Gobindo Basumatary, Kokrajhar Lok Sabha MP Naba Kumar Sarania, BTC executive members and general members were among dignitaries in the meeting.

Addressing the gathering, BTC chief executive member Pramod Boro termed it a historic day for the new UPPL-BJP-GSP coalition government in BTC.


“The UPPL-BJP-GSP coalition government in BTC is committed for all round development of all communities in the region. Today’s meeting is held to hear the problems and grievances of various communities, he said and promised to work and facilitated the problems and issues to their best and limited capacity.


Boro said modalities for development board for different community has been already prepared and it would be placed for approval in the assembly session of the council to be held on January 8 next.
“The Council has also prepared a SOP on smooth functioning of land related issues, and a community happiness cell in social welfare department will be set up, he added.

Boro also said the Council is planning to set up Bodoland Language and Cultural Research Centre for development of social, culture, language of all communities and it’s preservation.


Stating that participation of all communities is a must in success of govt work, he said “if we can work united, together we can achieve far success.
Stating that the previous government did not follow the system and rules of the government, Boro said the new government has started work for digitization of all works in every department in the Council. He assured to simplify works through digitization and to collect public grievances through recently launched online portal grievances redressal cell. He also assured that his council will patronize the student organizations of the region for organizing awareness campaign on education, agriculture, carrier counselling etc. as the student bodies can take a crucial role as work force in the society.


In his welcome speech, BTC deputy chief Gobindo Basumatary urged all for coordination and cooperation in carrying out development activities in the BTR. He said the new government, being a people’s government wanted solution of each and every problem of all communities

Absu president Dipen Boro in his keynote address called for result oriented and transperancy by the new government in BTC. He also called upon the organisations to not act by emotions but work for peace and tranquility and all round development.
