Budget Session of Bihar legislature began today with the address of Governor Lalji Tandon to the joint sitting of Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council.
In his address, the Governor said the state government has taken several measures for welfare of farmers. He said agriculture subsidy of 1,450 crore rupees has been transferred to bank accounts of farmers. For irrigation, the unit charge has been reduced to 75 paise per unit.
The Governor said “Bihar state crop assistance” scheme has been launched to assist farmers during natural calamities including floods and droughts. He said the state government is committed for development with Justice.
The economic survey of the state was then tabled in the house. The budget for the fiscal year 2019-20 will be presented tomorrow. The session will continue till February 20th and there will be seven sittings.
