By 2047, India will have 4,500 Vande Bharat trains running across country:  Jyotiraditya Scindia

New Delhi: Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia today said that Indian Railway system is growing the fastest in the world. Briefing the media in New Delhi today, Mr Scindia said, the world’s highest railway bridge is being built in Jammu and Kashmir. He informed that the first section of the Bullet Train will start within three years.

The Minister said, today 23 Vande Bharat trains are running in the country and the mission is to run 4,500 Vande Bharat trains by 2047. He said, the Railway budget in 2013-14 was 29 thousand crore rupees and now it is 2 lakh 40 thousand crore rupees. Mr Scindia said, Government is also working towards ensuring that carbon emission from trains is reduced to net zero in coming years. The Minister said, a new phase ‍started in 2014 and before that there was a lack of vision and leadership in the country. He said, Government has given special focus on Infrastructure since 2014. The Minister said, PM Gatishakti from 2021 has brought Ministries including Railways and Roadways together for integrated planning and coordinated implementation of infrastructure connectivity projects. He said, 10 Lakh crore Capital expenditure project is underway. Mr Scindia said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made the most neglected parts of the country, Jammu and Kashmir and Northeastern states, as focus centres of development of the country. Replying to a query, the Minister said, the Ayodhya airport will be fully ready by the end of this month. He said, he is monitoring the project on a daily basis.
