Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister, Jagat Prakash Nadda, will inaugurate the two-week-long Swachhata Pakhwada-2026 tomorrow. He will also administer a Swachhata Pledge along with all officers and staff of the Department of Fertilizers, on the occasion. The Pakhwada will be observed till the 15th of September. Concurrently, public awareness will be generated regarding the elimination of single-use plastics and promoting the use of cloth bags and reusable bottles.
The Department of Fertilizers said that the nationwide campaign aims to foster cleanliness at both physical and digital workplaces, promote environmental conservation, and bring qualitative improvements to work culture. It added that this year, alongside physical cleanliness, special priority is being accorded to Digital Cleanliness and Record Management to enhance administrative efficiency, transparency, and further strengthen the e-filing system. Under this initiative, the e-Office and digital filing systems of the department will be streamlined including reviewing pending e-files in the e-Office system, digitally closing or archiving disposed cases, and systematizing databases.
