Mumbai: Chennai Super Champs handed Pune United a thumping 3-1 loss to spectacularly enter the World Pickleball League (WPBL) 2026 final at the Jio World Garden tonight.

Seasoned Grand Slam ace Rika Fujiwara set the ball rolling from the opening women’s singles fixture itself.

She made light work of Katie Morris, defeating her by 23-12, getting the Super Champs one decisive step ahead in the contest, straightaway.

In the following mixed doubles fixture, Ly Hoang Nam paired up with Carlota Trevino and beat William Sobek alongside Madalina Grigoriu by a convincing 18-5 margin.

The men’s singles match looked set to sway in Chennai’s favour, until Balint Bako turned the tide to win 16-14 against Nam.

Trevino and Domenika Turkovic joined hands to oust the duo of Sarah Jane Lim and Grigoriu by 14-8.

With a decisive 3-1 margin, Chennai Super Champs step into the final of WPBL 2026, and are poised to lock horns with the Dilli Dillwale to lay their hands on the coveted championship.

After narrowly missing out on the playoffs last time around, Chennai Super Champs produced an altogether revamped and rejuvenated look, retaining Tanner Tomassi, but adding some skilful new faces that immediately embraced cohesiveness and consistently packed decisive punches to land into the summit clash of WPBL 2026.
