Chhattisgarh Gets Its First Degree-Integrated Generative AI Engineering Programme Through byteXL–Rungta International Skills University Partnership
Hyderabad : byteXL, one of India’s leading higher education transformation companies, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Rungta International Skills University in Bhilai, marking byteXL’s entry into Chhattisgarh and its first institutional partnership in the state.
Rungta International Skills University (RISU), one of Central India’s fastest-growing skill-integrated universities, is committed to bridging academia and industry through globally relevant programmes, strategic industry partnerships, and experiential learning.
byteXL is making the move at a moment when Chhattisgarh’s state government has been publicly signalling skilling and employability as a policy priority, including recent state-level initiatives aimed at strengthening the link between higher education and industry needs. Earlier this month, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai unveiled a state AI and digital governance roadmap, outlining plans to bring AI skill development into schools and colleges and stating his ambition for Chhattisgarh to become one of India’s leading AI-driven states. This aligns with a broader shift already visible in national employability data: the India Skills Report 2026, published by ETS, CII, AICTE, AIU and Taggd, found that computer science graduates now post 80% employability, the highest of any academic stream, with IT engineers close behind at 78%, as hiring across sectors continues to shift toward AI, data, and automation-driven roles. For byteXL, entering a state actively building out its skilling agenda with a Generative AI-focused engineering degree is a way to give that push a concrete, degree-integrated form, rather than treating it as an add-on certification.
Under the MoU, Rungta University will launch a B.Tech in Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AI & ML) with specializations in Agentic AI and Generative AI for the incoming batch. Powered by byteXL’s industry-aligned curriculum and learning ecosystem, developed in collaboration with Microsoft, the program is designed to prepare students for emerging careers in AI through a blend of academic learning, practical exposure, and industry engagement. In parallel, byteXL will roll out its flagship bCAP (byteXL Career Acceleration Programme) for the university’s existing second- and third-year engineering students, enabling them to build in-demand technical and professional skills alongside their academic curriculum.
